A1&A2
The Fire Department runs 2 Advanced
Life Support (ALS) ambulances.
A-1 is a class 1 ambulance and
A-2 is a class 5 ambulance.
Princeton residents and those people within our response area are provided Emergency Medical Services (EMS) through a cooperative effort between Fire and Police Emergency Responders.
The Fire Department is a Call Department, which means that there is no one in the stations, and there are no full time employees. The trucks are garaged in the center of town, and in East Princeton.
When an EMS call is received at the Police Dispatch Center, the dispatcher "tones out" the Fire Department to respond to the call for help. Firefighters and EMT's that receive the page, and are able to respond, come from home or wherever they are to pick up the trucks at the stations and respond to the scene of the incident to provide Emergency Medical Services.
